With MLM recruiting, you often hear about geometric growth

, you know, where 1 becomes 2 becomes 4 becomes 8. Five could become ten could become fifty could become one hundred...

How does that work?

In simple terms, with MLM recruiting it's basically just multiplication versus addition or subtraction. Here's what I mean:

If you're trying to do your MLM recruiting with your "salesman" hat on, I'm sure you can testify that you have to constantly add new people (addition) to take the place of the ones that quit the week before (subtraction) because there's no duplication (multiplication).

Just try it on a calculator; if you multiply numbers together, no matter how small, fairly quickly you will get to some big numbers - again it does not matter which numbers you use, so long as each is more than 0 of course (these numbers are supposed to represent a number of people). Now try adding those same numbers together from before instead of multiplying - you'll be there a period of time and will have to add together a lot more numbers - even before accounting for the subtraction effect!

Profitable MLM recruiting is finding those leaders in depth, those people who will take off and run with it, and you must go through the numbers (multiplication) to discover them - there's no other way (so don't try, you'll just slow down or kill your business). You will recognize your leaders as those people who are always calling YOU and that is who you spend eighty percent of your time with.

When prospecting, remember that just because you can lead a horse to water doesn't mean you can force him to drink.

So don't beg anyone while building or prospecting - if your MLM recruiting is resulting in your having to do that, you're working with the wrong ones. Remember that just as you can't sign up 100% of the people you show your business to,, 80% of the ones that DO join you are not going to be your truly serious leaders. And that's ok, and you want to make sure you're only spending 20% of your precious time working with them.

An MLM recruiting survey done a while ago revealed that Top Earners generate the vast majority of their paychecks from just 1 to 4 reps in their team, on average. As few as 1, as many as 4.. And that's it!. Startling and inspiring right?
