Mike Metzger is an icon that shows the tradition and belief that is so uncommon in an extreme sport like Freestyle MX that fields a lot of outstanding players. Also known as Metz to friends and family, he has had a heavy influence and impact to Freestyle MX than any player from his generation and beyond. Mike was able to perform one of the most legendary tricks in Freestyle MX; back-to-back backflips at X-Games '02. Another legendary trick that he performed successfully was the 125-ft backflip over the fountains at Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas in May '06. X-Gamers both fans and players alike know and respect him like no other. His credibility as a renowned and respected figure in Freestyle MX is backed-up by 3 Gold and 2 Silver X-Game medals although he currently does not ride competitively. Metzger Unlimited and the MOB Syndicate is the premier company and group that can and will lead the future of Freestyle MX as a brand and a renowned name that people all know. Metzger, also known as "The Godfather" wants to interpret the Freestyle MX sport into a well known idea that everyday people will be able to understand and appreciate in their own way. How does he plan to do this? Through MOB Syndicate. MOB Syndicate is the Godfather's own Freestyle MX riding team created last 2009 through the gathering of the many up-and-coming riders with the love of the sport and potential to be great. The MOB Syndicate is currently more of a demo team comprised of Anthony Murray, Brody Wilson, Chuck Carothers, Destin Cantrell, Matt Buyten, Julian d'Usseau, Nick Dunne, Vinnie Carbon, John Reiser, Thomas Alves, Robert Distler, Wiley Fulmer, Steven Haugalstine, Keith Sayers, Rich Kearns and more. The MOB Syndicate's goal is to have the respectability an organized crew can give to the Freestyle MX image by going to worldwide places and represent themselves and the sport in a very professional demeanor. To do this, they drive the market for Metzgers Unlimited merchandise, products of partner companies, and talent bookings for MOB Syndicate riders. This is only the beginning for the future of Freestyle MX. Along with other riding teams already made or planned into formation, it is only a matter of time when the Freestyle MX sport becomes an action sport scene organized through syndication.
