Urgent Med Housecalls offers convenient mobile medical services for patients with acute skin infections and other dermatologic problems

. Our emergency physicians and other practitioners are able to treat a variety of skin problems on site in patient's homes, hotel rooms, workplace or elsewhere.

Our house call providers respond to requests for service usually same day, and frequently within 1-2 hours. Practitioners carry many commonly used medications used to treat skin problems for patient convenience, or a prescription may be written or called to a nearby pharmacy.

For moderately serious skin infections, injectable or IV antibiotics may be brought to the patient to be administered during the house call. Providers who administer these medications always carry safety equipment and medications so that we are fully prepared in the unusual case of medication reaction.

In certain situations, procedures such as cyst or abscess drainage may be required. Appropriate equipment is carried so that these procedures may be painlessly, efficiently, and safely performed. Strict sterile technique is always used, and when done in the housecall setting, exposure to "superbugs", antibiotic resistant bacteria, and other communicable diseases is minimized.

Occasionally, certain skin infections may require evaluation with ultrasound, xray, blood tests or wound culture. These services are all usually available on a portable basis for the convenience of patients.

Patients receiving medical care via the services of Urgent Med Housecalls always have rapid telephone access to the doctor after the visit for followup questions and communication. Referral for dermatology, surgical and other specialty followup care is easily arranged when indicated.
