While you can control the environment you have at home, it's unlikely that they will get the same environment once outside. The same rules and concerns that you have for your child might not be the same elsewhere. So communicating to your child and letting them understand the dangers online is the most important thing you need to convey.
3. Manage your child's time on the internet and on their phones. Organizing, scheduling is the best way to control the hours your child spends on the internet or on their phone. Some children try to sneak and use their phones late at night, so it's best that you check once in a while. Or you can always set a rule for them to check in their phones at night and get it in the morning. Also, put your family computer on the living room. Chances are they don't want to open any sites which you are against to.
4. Set guidelines about their phones and internet and enforce consequences if ever they fail to follow them. Show your kids that you are not bluffing and you mean real business. Like when instead of studying they are on the computer playing games, then you need to implement the consequences. Like, they are not allowed to go on the computer the next day, you can confiscate their phones, etc. Make sure that your child understands the conditions and the terms, so that they will not get confused.
Be open to your children, you want them to be safe, then foster open communication. Communicating with your kids is one of the best ways to let them open up to you.
