nearly every everybody owns one, whether they are a small child or a senior citizen. What is more, the technology is continuing to rapidly advance and often before the year can end, a new mobile phone that is released on the market and advertised as the latest and greatest of its kind, another model is released which has more functions and is more fashionable. And for those who hanker after the latest gadgets, they often simply cannot resist rushing out to buy the latest one, leaving a perfectly good and practically brand new phone completely redundant, in a drawer, gathering dust.

In a day and age where recycling has become more important than it ever has been in the past, mobile phone recycling make smart sense for a variety of reasons. Firstly, it is important to understand that the vast majority of mobile phones are manufactured with more small parts and components than you can probably imagine and they are so sophisticated that some mobile phones are replacing much of the need for laptops because they can carry out functions such as receiving and sending emails, video conferencing, online banking and so on.

Although there is an increasing demand being placed on mobile phone manufacturers to come up with biodegradable alternatives to mobile phone components, the truth is that they may take years to achieve this and in the meantime, landfills are getting full and we are poisoning the earth. As a result it is extremely important that we get into the habit of recycling the parts we can or passing on our old mobile phones to charity so they can make money to pass on to those in need.

Mobile phone recycling makes smart sense because dumping old phones into a land fill leaves them to sit there, unlike biodegradable materials poisoning the earth. What is more, many parts of the newer phones are not items that should be left to contaminate the earth. By sending mobile phones back to the manufacturer to recycle or sending them to a registered charity or other accepted recycler, you can take pride in knowing that you are doing your bit to save the planet. Mobile phone recycling is even being adopted in schools and work places to make sure that no one has the excuse not to recycle their mobile phone.
