Modern Warfare 3

Modern Warfare 3

It's a new year and we all know that means a new Call of Duty. This year we will be playing Modern Warfare 3. Although it should have been Infinity Wards turn to develop Call of Duty, this year things are a little more complicated. Sources have revealed that this year Sledgehammer Games and Infinity Ward will be working on the single player campaign together and Raven Software will be developing the multiplayer. We think it is pretty safe to assume that the release date for Modern Warfare 3 will follow the trends of the previous Call of Duty releases and be released just before Christmas, most likely towards mid November. Over the years the Call of Duty series seems to have claimed its spot at the top when it comes to online multiplayer on consoles. We are wondering whether Raven Software will keep it there and also what new additions they will bring to the multiplayer and what features they will remove (last stand MUST go!). I for one would not mind seeing the return of quickscoping as it offers more diversity for players in terms of play style. The things I would not like to see included in the Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer would be; Noob Tubes, those damn RC cars!, thermal scopes (I consider using thermal scopes to be cheating). As with any new game, rumours have begun to circulate around the web about Modern Warfare 3. One of the rumours, which has been strengthened after UK Official Playstation Magazine wrote an article about it, is that Modern Warfare 3 will be a prequel starring fan favourite Ghost.

On the Rumour Machine page in its latest issue (055), OPM points to ""insider whispers" which suggest: "Infinity Ward's next Modern Warfare title will be a prequel, with Ghost in the lead role." The Modern Warfare Call of Duty titles which were developed by Infinity Ward are arguably the best of the bunch. One huge flaw with the Infinity Ward games though was the lack of community support and fixing of game related issues. Treyarch (developers of Call of Duty titles: World at War, Black Ops etc.) on the other seemed to have learned from Infinity Ward's mistakes and so far have listened to the Black Ops community and have been very quick to respond to any issues. Let's just hope that Infinity Ward too have learned from their own mistakes and will take into account what the Modern Warfare 3 Forum Community will have to say, and fix any major problems or loopholes in the game (boosting springs to mind) in a timely manner.
