More Coupon Shopping Tips
You have been introduced to coupon shopping and you absolutely enjoy it
. If you could, you would wish that you could shop for everything this way. You will also find that there is a stark difference between shopping with coupons and shopping without them. And as such, your shopping time with coupons have merited you quite a few tricks up your sleeves. Yes, the possibilities of shopping and saving with coupons are extensive. Here are a couple more tips and tricks that you might want to add when shopping with coupons.
Organize and monitor. If you don't keep your coupons organized, you might not just be able to find the right one you are looking for when the time comes for it. In order for you to avoid this, you should find a way or a system rather, to keep your coupons organized and in order. You may categorize them into expiration dates or store names or product names, whatever your preference as long as they are classified and can be easily sorted out. This will save you time and give you more coupon shopping convenience.
And if you have some free time on your hands, you can also make a list of all the coupons that you have, complete with the expiration dates and other important details that you should know. Let's face it, different products have different coupons; and at the same time, different stores honor only different kinds of coupons as well. By tracking them, you will be able to note the price variances and use the coupons that offer the best deal.
Check the per unit price. Coupons are usually offered for product packages. You can actually compute how much money you're saving by determining a products value. You may be surprised to discover that in some cases, you can get more savings by getting the smaller package. This occurs when that coupon that you possess offers the same price markdown for both big and smaller product packages.
For example, take five bars of soap for $5 and 10 bars at $10 with a coupon having $1 off. With the 5 bars you get a price of $.80 a piece, and with 10 you get $.90 for each bar of soap. There is a $.10 variance. It might appear to be quite trivial. Albeit, you should always remember that each small cent makes up a dollar. That small saving could add up to something more.
Learn the art of barter and trade. The coupons you get today may or may not have use for you today or anytime. Take for instance that you have a coupon for dog food but yet you don't have a dog, what use could you have for this coupon, right? It would prove to be quite useless as well unless you're planning on getting a dog sometime soon. If you don't, this would only take up space and add to more clutter in your collection of coupons. So what do you do with your extra coupons?
It's simple, trade them. Trade those coupons that you have no use for with someone who might want them; and at the same time, you'd also be getting something that you need in exchange. It's best expressed in the old saying that "one man's garbage is another man's treasure".
