Disaster management helps disaster preparation and dealing with a tough time. Being prepared will help you respond quickly as well. Some disasters could include:

1. War

2. Global warming and related items

3. Volcano eruption

4. Tornado or other big storm

5. Earthquakes

If you are not prepared you will find it difficult to deal with the many challenges following a disaster. You might be dealing with injuries, property damage, hunger, thirsty, no electricity and no phones. All of these can cause trouble. One example of a problem is not having a way to communicate. That means if there is an injury or perhaps a gas leak there is no way of contacting help.

Disaster management helps put together a plan. It helps you know what resources you need and need to gather. Now, there is personal family disaster management, but there is more extended disaster management that is needed as well. It includes having supplies that will needed for distributed to the community, how these items will be distributed. It is also important to have a backup plan; such as if a distribution station has been harmed there should be an alternative. It is all overwhelming that's why it is important to prepare ahead of time. There are also the warnings that need to be presented to help people prepare to be as safe as possible during a disaster.

Every area from towns and neighborhoods to other countries has their own disaster management plan that needs to be created. There is no way to know how bad the disaster will be so preparation is vital for survival.

It is possible that the plan when implemented won't work as planned. That's because no one knows every aspect of what will happen. There is nothing wrong with going with the flow and that is easier when a disaster management plan is in place. It can also lead to making changes if a disaster happens again someday. You will know what works and you will know what doesn't work. The plan can be changed to accommodate issues that didn't work the first time. Of course, everyone hopes they never need to use the plan, but it is there if needed.
