More Innovative Uses For Perfume And Essential Oils

Every once in a while I will write an article explaining some of the different ways

that you can use essential oils and scented potpourri and body oils. This list is not all inclusive by any means. I always tell my customers that the only thing that limits you is your own imagination. After I have published everything that I know you may have some pointers that you can add to the equation which is fine. When we list these uses of our products it gives customers an idea of what they can do with them.

You can use either essential oils for these fragrance tips or you can use synthetic mens and womens scented fragrance oils. The difference between the two types of oil is that the fragrance oils which are designed to wear on the skin have been refined so that they dont contain any irritants. You can switch body oils for potpourri or essentials but you shouldnt use potpourri oils directly on the skin.

In order to add fragrance to your clothing and sheets you only need to add a small amount of scented oil to your rinse cycle. You only need a few drops of oil for this and you dont have to worry about your clothing being stained. It adds a delightful fragrance to your clothing which you and the people who wear the clothing or use the towels will enjoy.

Another good way to use these oils is to refresh potpourri or incense that has dried out and lost its fragrance. When you want to freshen potpourri just sprinkle a few drops of the oil on it. You can experiment with different fragrances if you desire. Sometimes you may want to try sprinkling a combination of fragrances on your potpourri, or mixing the scented oils together before applying them. Many times you will stumble across a combination that cant be beat as an alternative fragrance.

Dip your dried incense sticks in the oil to freshen them. After you dip them give the oil about an hour to be diffused throughout the incense before you burn it.

These oils will make an excellent air freshener if you want to use a spray air freshener. Add a few drops of oil to water and use a spray bottle to spray a fine mist. Another way to use the oil as an air freshener is to mix it in alcohol and spray the mixture into the air.

I have always talked about using simmering pots to diffuse fragrance throughout your home but if you dont have a simmering pot you can place a small amount of water in a small pan with a few drops of oil and simmer it on the stove on a low heat.

If you like to burn candles you can place a small amount of the oil in the melted candle wax which will cause it to give off fragrance as it burns. If you use candles when you bathe a soothing essential oil fragrance will help you to unwind and relax after a long hard day.

For tired aching muscles or arthritis aches, mix 1 part Deep Blue essential oil to 4 parts Fractionated Coconut Oil and use as massage oil.

Keep a headache cure with you when you travel. Whenever you feel a headache coming on rub a few drops of Rosemary or Lavender oil onto the back of your neck to ease the pain.

For fresh smelling carpets add ten drops of your favorite essential oil to a box of baking soda or cornstarch and let sit for two days, then sprinkle the powder on your carpet, let it sit for one hour, and vacuum. This is the same formula as the carpet fresheners that you buy in the store except that the difference here is that our recipe costs a whole lot less.
