More Success Tips

I want to talk first about a mistake that I have made all of my life until very recently

. Let me begin by first asking you a series of questions. When I am finished I think you will know exactly what I am talking about. We all talk about how we want to be a success in life but we dont take the time to define what success is. We need to do the most basic thing and define what success means to us. What exactly is success to you? Does being successful mean that you have a whole lot of money? How much money do you need? How much is a lot? Most people never even think things through this far.

I think that you see the point that I am trying hard to make here. You need to have your own concept of what success is. The thing that absolutely turns my crank may not work for you. You need to make your own definition of success and that definition should be the thing that drives you. Dont let others define success for you because if you do you will always be labeled as a failure. You can never live up to the expectations of others, so dont try.

My definition of success as of very recently is doing the thing that makes me happy and being able to make a living at it. If I work for one of the richest and best paying companies in the world am I successful? I may make a ton of money by doing so but what do I give up in the process. I have found that I can be perfectly happy by just being with the people that I love the most. It doesnt much matter how much we have or what we do just as long as we are in each others company.

Dont be driven by the thoughts and ideas of other people. I know a person who I thought was a good friend but I really found out that persons heart when I was at a low point in life. I was near financial ruin and when this person came to see me he only talked about how much he had and how much I didnt have. I was already feeling pretty rough and the only thing that this person could think to do was to rub the fact that he had more material possessions in my face. After that session and even today it doesnt matter much to me if I never see that person again.

Now there is a point here which needs to be emphasized. I should have never let the person get under my skin because I shouldnt let him dictate the standards of success to me. My definition of success may be totally different from his. If money is what turns his crank then thats fine but to be honest I have never been driven by a desire to have more possessions than other people. Where do we draw the line with material possessions?

Success may be defined as comfort for one person, or yet happiness for another. I may be happy with the fact that I am healthy, while the fact that you live a life of ease may be the key for you. Whatever success means to you is your own thing but you will have to work for it.

The biggest mistake that you can make in life is to live by someone elses definition of success. You cant live by the expectations of other people you have to make your own. You can never live up to the expectations of others because in their eyes you will always fall short. You cant get inside of the mind of another person to be exactly what he or she wants you to be so its best that you dont even try.

Define what success is to you, set your goals, and keep moving until you get there. Be inner directed. Riceland Enterprises
