The magnificent Rolls Royce 1934 Phantom II, custom built for the Maharaja of Rajkot and nicknamed as the Star of India' was sold to a British car collector in the year 1968. This gorgeous piece of automotive history was recently listed on the JamesList for sale at an incredible $12.46 million and car has since been on display at Canada's Art Gallery of Ontario as part of the Maharaja: The Splendor of India's Royal Courts exhibition.
The All Weather Convertible custom built for the Maharaja will now soon be reunited with its long lost heritage, as Maharaja Jadeja plans to bring the automobile to its rightful place and present it to his father on his 75th birthday. The car itself represents a vital element to the automobile history of India with iconic names such as Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Queen of England being some of the most celebrated individuals has taken ride in this vintage car.
