Motor Vehicle Accidents Concerning Teenage Drivers Resulting In Major Injuries And Fatalities

In general, young drivers are at higher risk of having an accident

. Just a quick look at very recent reports of motor vehicle accidents demonstrates that a number of them involved teen drivers. Many accidents have several teenagers in a car. Many accidents have several victims. Many accidents involve pedestrian victims. In this article we consider 4 reported accidents. One of the accidents involves major injuries. The additional three situations ended in a fatality.

In this report a motor vehicle accident was described in which the driver was a 16 year old who held a junior license which allowed the teenager to drive up to 9:00 pm. The accident, however, happened on a weekday after 9:00 p.m. The reason why is unclear but somehow the driver lost control of the car. As a result the car hit another vehicle and then struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian, was waiting at a bust stop when the accident happened, died from his injuries. The victim was a 65 year old man. The driver suffered minor injuries. He was arrested and charged with speeding, manslaughter, and criminally negligent homicide.

In this report the driver of the motor vehicle was a drunk eighteen year old male. The accident occurred on a Sunday morning at approximately 2:30. Weekend evenings present the biggest risk for accidents involving drunk drivers. The driver hit a male pedestrian, forty four years of age, who was crossing a road. On account of the accident he sustained serious head injuries. After the accident the driver was arrested and was charged with driving under the influence and with driving while intoxicated.

As per this report the driver was an eighteen year old male. The motor vehicle accident took place in the morning hours on a Sunday. The accident took place in a residential area. The accident happened when the teenaged driver lost control of his car. It turned forcefully and flipped, striking a pedestrian who had just gotten out of his car so as to pick up a pamphlet from the front yard of one of the homes. The home was for sale and had a sign and the pamphlets in the front yard. After striking the man the car kept going until it was ultimately stopped when it struck a tree in front of the house. The 67 year old male victim was killed in the accident.

In this report the account was of a 19 year old driver. The young woman was driving in a residential location. The driver hit a woman who was in front of her home working in a flower bed with such force that she was hurled nearly one hundred fifty feet into a truck parked in her driveway. The teenaged driver fled the scene of the accident. Nearly 30 minutes after the accident the police found the young driver and placed her under arrest. They located her not far from the scene of the accident. She claimed she was going back to the scene to admit she had caused the accident.

Whenever I read a report of a new accident my thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. Lives are ruined in them. Victims can die or endure serious injuries. Some are left with life-long disabilities. The families of the victims also suffer a great loss. Even the teenage drivers life is changed forever. Sometimes they suffer the remainder of their lives from having to know what they did. Sometimes they end up in jail. Yet, be it from speeding or from drunk driving these accidents keep happening.
