Motor Vehicle Accidents Concerning Teenage Drivers That Ended In Major Injuries And Fatalities

It is well known that teenage drivers are at high risk of causing a motor vehicle accident

. Even a cursory perusal of very recent reports of motor vehicle accidents indicates that some of them involved teen drivers. Many of these accidents have two or more teenagers in the car, have several victims, and involve a hurt or killrf pedestrian. Beneath we summarize recent reports of three such incidents. In 3 of the cases a person died.

In this report a motor vehicle accident was described in which the vehicle was driven by a 16 year old who held a junior license which permitted the teenager to drive up to 9:00 in the evening. The accident, however, occurred on a weekday after 9:00 p.m. The reason why is unclear but somehow the driver lost control of the car. As a result the car hit another vehicle and then struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian died from the injuries sustained in the accident. The pedestrian victim was waiting at a bust stop when the accident happened. The victim was a 65 year old man. The driver was arrested. He was charged with speeding, manslaughter, and with criminally negligent homicide.

In this report the driver of the motor vehicle was a drunk 18 year old male. The motor vehicle accident occurred before dawn on a Sunday. Most drunk driving accidents occur on weekend nights. As outlined by the report the victim in this accident was hit as he was crossing a road. The victim was a 44 year old male. Because of the accident he suffered severe head injuries. The driver was arrested. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving under the influence.

This accident involved an 18 year-old male driving in a residential area at around 8:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning. The accident occurred when the teenaged driver lost control of his vehicle. The car spun violently before it flipped over, hit the victim and slammed against a large tree in front of the house. The man had just gotten out of his car to grab a pamphlet from the front yard on a home which had a For Sale sign when he was struck by an out of control car. The man died from his injuries. He was 67 years old.

In this report the account was of a nineteen year old driver. The young woman was driving in a residential location. The young driver left the scene of the accident after she struck a woman who was gardening in a flower bed in front of her own residence. The driver hit the woman with such force that she threw her virtually 150 feet. The female victim ended up slamming against a truck that was parked in the driveway of her home. The driver did not stop. The driver was arrested in the area around half an hour later as she was allegedly going back to the scene to take responsibility for the accident.

On a personal level it is sad to have to read about these accidents. These types of cases are true tragedies. Victims who survive the accident are often left with injuries that result in permanent disabilities. In cases involving a death the family of the victim suffers the loss of a loved one. Even the life of the teen driver is permanently changed.
