Grey scale screens have made a comeback with the launch of the Motorola W160 and W156. The Motorola W160 is a candy bar phone with smart looks. It has the following dimensions - 114X43X14 mm and weights 82 grams. The speaker is placed above the 1.5 inch screen while the circular D-pad is below it. The right navigation key works as a short key for selecting the ringtone, while the left navigation key can be used for accessing recent call records. The up and down navigation keys act as short keys for messages and contacts respectively. For accessing the menu users have to press OK. The front panel has a lustrous look. The alpha-numeric keypad is made of soft and shiny plastic. It is comfortable to use even while typing long SMSes. The slots for the charger and the earphone are on the right and the left panel respectively. The back panel has the loudspeaker. Blue LED's light up the keypad and add to the overall style. The Motorola W160 is an economy device best suited for people who use cellphones to make and receive calls. The device comes with an FM radio and a good battery backup. The audio quality is good in the headphone and loudspeaker modes. The left soft key acts as a shortcut for FM radio. The headphones available with the sales pack are of good quality. However, users can only store nine radio channels on the phone. The device is preloaded with 28 ringtones and users can store four more ringtones of their choice. The device comes with Motorola's CrystalTalk Technology, which enhances the voice quality during calls. For entertainment the handset is preloaded with games like Spring Ball, Football and Maze. The Motorola W160 has some useful features like alarm clock, calender and stop watch. The battery backup of the phone is good but does not match the company's claim of 9.5 hours talktime.
