The movie took the WWas the setting, when 8 Italian soldiers stationed on a Greek island of the Aegean with a mule. However, the local isolated and beautiful surroundings set the soldiers back on their way to fighting in the war. Whats more, they played football, painted frescos and even pursued personnel love. The climax was brought by the soldiers refusal of leaving this paradise after a warship coming for carry them home. Thought the theme of this movie is anti-war, I was impressed in the sightseeing there and relax lifestyle.
