Movies Are A Favorite American Pastime

The United States is well known for their movies and the actors and actresses that perform in them

. Some of the most famous people in the world come from the movies that we watch. There are some classic actors that cross over generations and are known by many. Often times, this is the result if the actor or actress being able to continue their career through their childhood or early adulthood into the golden years of their life. They are the ones who know how to age gracefully and can play almost any role.

Some of the most famous names you might hear in relation to Hollywood include people like Dean Martin, Lucille Ball, John Wayne, Audrey Hepburn, James Dean, Roy Rogers, Marilyn Monroe, Paul Newman, Frank Sinatra and more. These are people who all had lengthy runs in the movies and often worked right up until their death or well into their senior years.

Some of the many classics that they created over the years can now be found on the internet. The age of the internet and ecommerce has brought a whole new life to classics that were once long talked about, but unable to be seen by those who were too young to have seen the movie when they came out.

Our obsession with the movies as a country started from the early days of the silver screen. A good movie was a way to escape the realities of life for a few hours and to simply enjoy life through the eyes of someone else. That obsession has only grown over the years. People continue to go to the movies in record numbers. However, now that movies can be bought on dvds and blu-ray disks, the sales and obsession for movies has only grown.

In movies, producers have found a the ability to push the envelope and explore new territories that have not been explored in the public eye before. They have found the ability to influence society and many of them like that kind of power and ability. Some push the envelope too far and they come under tight scrutiny by society.

Much of the American history can be found in movies. We gauge so much of what happens to us and our country through the movie screen. There are the movies from our childhood and then there are those that we watched while we were dating and in the early days of marriage.
