Movies From The Seventies

A lot of people like doing a top five or a top ten for movies

, television series or even books, so now it is my turn to do it with my top five of the best movies coming from the seventies.

This is only my opinion though and you may not agree with me.

A lot of people would consider the seventies almost like the golden age of cinema, especially when you think about all the great movies that came out of this decade. This was the beginning of some great film directors and some others were already well in the game. The seventies make us think of some great names like Francis Ford Coppola, Steven Spielberg or Georges Lucas.

We all love it when we can see once again on TV one of these old movies from the seventies.

I would probably put Saturday Night Fever in the first spot. This movie was released at the end of the seventies and shows an amazing John Travolta on the dance floor with a great sound track from the Bee Gees. It is not really what we would call a comedy but I always laugh when I see how they dressed back then. This great movie was directed by John Badham by the way.

I would probably put Close Encounter of the third type in the second position. This movie directed by Steven Spielberg was also from the end of the seventies and is just one of the greatest science fiction movies of all times. It is the story of an electrical lineman whose life changes one evening when he encounters unidentified lights in the sky.

My third choice would be for Star Wars. I think this movie, alongside the two others could have been anywhere in the top three or all in the first place but that was not possible. This great science fiction movie created by the great Georges Lucas has ended up being one of the most famous franchises of the American history with the final film being released in 2005.

The forth place would go to the Godfather one and two that were released at the beginning of the seventies and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. It is also a very well known trilogy that has entered into history like Star Wars and others.

I would probably put A clockwork Orange of Stanley Kubrick in fifth place. This controversial movie from the beginning of the seventies is a depiction of sex and violence well put together.
