Super typhoon Christopher spared not even the roof over our heads. Our once safe, homey abode resembled ship wreckage more than anything else after the entire east coast was hit by the said typhoon. The local homeless centers could no longer accommodate the multitude of seemingly itinerant families that we were assigned to this area intended for

Based from my experience, here are a few helpful tips for those who are planning to pack up all their belongings for a big move.
A list can make things a whole lot easier. Write it down, print it out; whatever record keeping system suits you as long as youre able to take note of each item that goes into every box you pack. Try to be as specific as possible in describing the contents to avoid confusion and save time later on.
Stock up on supplies. Hoard as many boxes as you can from local movers in MD, the unused ones are refundable ay. Use strong, high quality packing tape to seal the boxes. For the contents, use bubble wrap or packing paper to keep them from breaking.
Assign a color for each room. Put colored stickers or papers on the boxes so the movers will know exactly where to place them when you get to the location. Things that go together should stay together. Have a separate box for small parts like hooks of frames, nails, and other detachable pieces from your furniture.
Keep your valuables and documents. Just as you have a hand-carry bag when flying, youll need one when moving. As for documents like birth certificates, bank records, bills and realtor information, carry them with you as well.
Let each family member have a personal box. Fill these personalized boxes with things you think are needed right away in the new house. Examples are beddings, towels, phones, laptops.
