Pakistan cricket has flourished a lot, new changes have been taken place and many new reforms are made

. The era of ijaz butt was very progressive. Pakistan cricket made a tremendous improvement, the successes of Zimbabwe series was appreciable. Pakistani cricketers played really well.

For further improvements new chairman has been appointed to bring about more and even better standard to the cricket industry. Mr Ashraf, the new chairman is supposed to be the leader, who will lead Pakistani cricket in very productive manner.

The agreement of previous PCB chief Ijaz Butt, which was completed by one year last year, expired on Oct 8. Initially, he was selected for two years. Mr. Ashrafs selection as PCB chief during the day and that the agreement of Ijaz Butt has not been complete.

Although there was no authorized word about Mr. Ashrafs selection, he himself asserted that he would run the PCB in a better way. Though, the former chairman has been working for the improvement of the Pakistani cricket according to the circumstances.


Mr. Ashraf main focus was to reinstate international cricket in Pakistan by making sure perfect protection provision, adding that all the verdict of the PCB would be taken by him. He declared that he would purify Pakistani cricket from corruption and match fixing humiliation and lobbying. He said: The question is not of the players but to win. Only those who perform will play.

The cricketers were happy and welcomed Mr. Ashraf as PCB chairman and hoped that he will encourage the demands of the cricketers to have brighter future of all cricketers. Though, ICC spokesman Samiul Hassan said if Mr. Ashraf had been selected for a period further than 2013 his selection was adjacent to a latest verdict of the International Cricket Council. Under ICC rules, cricket board chiefs could only be selected through elections and not through direct recommendation, he added.

ICC resource said The ICC Annual Conference unanimously supported a proposal to amend the ICC Articles of Association to provide for the important principle of free elections and the independence of member boards. It was agreed that all member boards must implement the provisions before annual conference in June 2012 and a further 12 months (to June 2013) would be allowed before any sanctions would be considered. It was noted that it was a well-established principle of modern sporting governance that national federations should be autonomous and free from interference from government in the administration of their affairs.
