There are millions of people going to the gym regularly and working out. However only a very small percentage of these people actually reach their desired goals and you can't even tell that most of these people actually workout.
For some people this is simply because they don't put in the necessary time needed and go to the gym, other people put in the time and go to the gym but don't do so effectively and instead of working out they sit around and joke with their friends.
Some people actually have great training regimens but don't take their diet seriously, which again results in no serious results. While others have both their training regimen and diet seriously but don't get the proper sleep needed to grow and create an anabolic environment for the muscles.
If you want to grow as much as possible and make sure that you are spending your time efficiently there are a couple of things you can do in order to maximize your results. The key with all of these tips is that you follow the consistently and don't just see them as a one week tactic that is going to make you bigger, remember that bodybuilding is all about having a good lifestyle over an extended period of time.
First of all you want to decide what your goal with weight lifting really is and how big or slim you want to be. This is the most important step as you want to specify your diet plan to fit your goals. You can never get big if you don't eat enough food and you can never lose fat tissue if you are constantly in caloric surplus.
Obviously you also want to specialize your training program so it fits your specific training goals. If for example you want to lose weight you need to do a cardio workout as often as 5 times a week. One of the most overlooked parts of bodybuilding however is the fact that you should constantly push yourself more than you did the last time.
If you are not constantly lifting heavier weights and striving to break your old records, your muscles will not have any incentive to grow as you are already strong enough to deal with the load presented. Therefore you should make sure you chart your lifts and write them down so that you can attempt to lift more the next time.
