The handset has an intuitive Android operating system with HTC Sense and offers an easy to use Music player which is preloaded as with many other applications and widgets on the device. You can view your music by genre, artist, album and more and sort your library accordingly. On opening the Music application your entire library is ready for you to use. Simply finger tap the touch display on the categories tab in the top right and then tap Playlists to create a new playlist seamlessly. You can add new and simply tap songs to scroll through and add songs to it. You can then use your Beats Audio headset to enjoy the playlist as you travel, go jogging or simply want specific tracks to listen to.

With the active lockscreen function you can easily set up your Music application to open for you without unlocking the device display too. All you need do is select it as one of your lockscreen applications, and then drag its icon to the ring at the bottom of the display to open it. This feature as with others on the Sensation XL makes everything much easier and faster to do. The handset also offers similar features to the HTC Sensation XE however differs particularly in its touch screen size, offering 4.7 inches for your crisp display and user interface respectively.

The handset also comes with an 8 megapixel camera for HD video recording (720 pixel resolution) and capturing quality photos. There is also a dual LED flash which enhances poor light conditions to capture the best photo still. Additionally, the handset has a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera for video calls which can be made with Google Talk and other applications. The phone also has great communication and connectivity options as well as the speed of a 1.5GHz processor for fast navigation and multitasking capabilities.
