Most new parents find that their little ones cry considerably more than they ever expected. Often they feel overwhelmed and exhausted as this crying will usually come on for no apparent reason and what's worse it can be extremely hard to stop at times.
The fact is that babies normally cry for 2 to 3 hours every day but then again, what is really normal? It differs with every child really, some are Angels and some cry so much that their parents are reduced to quivering blob of jelly. There are so many myths about why babies cry and so many different pieces of advice have been given to parents on how to deal with this situation. Some say to comfort your baby and don't let it cry too much because it might blow out a belly button, while others say that you shouldn't overcome for your baby so you don't risk spoiling your little one.
The Different Types of Cries:
So what do these infants who really want when they cry? There are several different types of cries, but these are not identifiable easily especially when the child is under the age of three. At the start, all the crying sounds the same as time goes on, you will notice a different pattern to the crying. In general, there are three types of cries: hunger, boredom and pain. That's right, sometimes little ones just need to vent in some way.
Sometimes it is hard to understand why your baby responds with nothing more than continuous crying and apparent unhappiness. This is especially true when parents are giving so much love attention and care to the little one's. The continuous crying can easily crush the confidence of even the most experienced of parents.
Just know that sometimes your baby's temperament has nothing to do with you (or what you're not doing).
You could be following and doing everything by the book yet nothing will work because this is what life has dealt you - a difficult baby. Just do the best you can and try to deal with it as there are no miracle cures here.
