My Computer is Running Slow and My Screen is Full of Pop Ups What Can I do?

One of the curses of the internet is finding your computer suddenly slowing down

and your screen being filled with error messages and adverts every time you go on the internet. This leaves you wondering why your computer is running slow.

Newer versions of internet explorer, Firefox and other browsers can automatically block some of these advertisements. Unfortunately the software that does this is getting smarter and bypasses so called pop up blockers. You can get rid of it and other malicious software and speed up your PC again.

The first thing to do is to avoid downloading free software unless you are 100% sure of what it is. Anything with shopping in the name needs to be looked at carefully. Some adware can be a nightmare to remove once it is installed.

If you are infected with adware and possibly spyware which is dangerous here are some steps you can take to prevent youe computer running slow.

#1 Go to the windows control panel and then to add and remove programs. Look carefully at all the programs in here. If there is anything you do not recognise or did not install remove it. Adware can install silently without you even knowing about it and leave your computer running slow.

#2 Download and a system and registry scanner.

#3 This will find spyware and adware and get rid of it and this software is really effective. Running the above steps is guaranteed to get rid of 99% of all adware quickly.

Disconnect from the internet in between running each step. The reason is this. Some adware will reinstall itself as fast as you can remove it,unless you remove it fully and the only way to be sure of doing this is by not allowing it to download again. How can it download once it has been removed? Many adware applications are smart and will bury entries away in the registry that will activate once you remove them. What can you do here?

#4 Run the system and registry scanner you downloaded above again. This will find errors, corruption and anything in the registry that you do not need here. If you want to eradicate adware and spyware totally you need to check for this. If any errors are found this will get rid of them for good.
