My Decision To Enter Medical Transcription

Hello and thank you for this opportunity to apply to such a worthy program as the one that you offering today. I would like to start by telling you that for years I have wanted to work towards a goal of higher education but was unsure in these economic times as to what I could do. Many factors played in my eventual decision to enter medical transcription; however two were at the top of my list. One was time and the other finances, and soon I came to realize that they went hand in hand when considering traditional college courses. With the rising cost of tuition and the ever rising unemployment rate my goal switched from not just obtaining a degree but to obtaining a degree that could be applied to a stable job market without spending tens of thousands of dollars in student loans and hours at night away from my family.

I truly believe that Medical Transcription is a stable job opportunity and that doing it through your program also makes it financially obtainable. The ability to seek employment and eventually work from home, if the opportunity calls for it, is something that few individuals rarely achieve. Yet this is not the only outcome I desire for my future, but is certainly one of the most promising. Again looking towards the future, where I am not burdened by debt for my education, I eventually would like to open an office that specializes in trained medical transcription. Giving others an opportunity to put their education to work for them in a professional setting would be rewarding on a whole new level for me, much like the opportunity you are offering through your medical transcription program. There are many medical groups in my local area that I found in doing my research on the field and all suggested that a reliable and well trained team of medical transcriptionists would fill a gap in the medical community that they are currently lacking. This is of course a future goal which would depend wholly on my financial status in the next 5 years and the stable growth in the local market. Lastly I would like to take the time to tell you how this would affect my personal life. For years my husband I have lived pay check to pay check as many others do as well. The meager savings that we put back yearly is spent on a short but well earned vacation. However, the flexibility of being a medical transcriptionist working from home would allow us to save even more money, and reduce the stress and cost of commuting back and forth. It also, eventually, would allow me to juggle working from home and being a stay at home mother, which has been a dream of ours for many years. All of which I could not do without the opportunity to earn my degree and obtain a job through your program. And depending on my success in the field it is an opportunity that my husband is also considering taking advantage of in order for us to reach our future goals.
