Getting There
Renia Sofia airport is the main tourist airport on the Island. Its a modern facility and located towards the south of the island. Transport links are good with taxis representing good value for money. They can become sparce during the high season however so be prepared to wait in line at peak times. Car hire is available in the terminal but like taxis these can be in short supply so booking in advance is a smart move.
Where to Sleep
Playa De Las Americas is a purpose built tourist town. Sand shipped in from the Sahara was used to create the man made beach and everything has been built around this. Both self catering holiday apartments and luxury all inclusive resorts are on offer from almost all of the major travel operators. Where to Eat
Eating out in Tenerife has been described as Cosmopolitan with a capital C, you have everything here from pizza to paella and it's easy to forget that the island has a rich local cuisine that's worth exploring.
