My Ultimate First Date Blunder: How You Can Learn From It!

Dont be mistaken, I dont see dating as a sport

. I dont go on dates to take notes of The DOs and DONTs during first dates. It is just that I have my share of blind dating experience, and I want to tell you just this one blunder that I bowed not to do after that night of shame.

Being the Little Miss Wallflower I tried being the quiet and aloof kind of gal so that my date will not assume that I was too eager, and it was my mechanism to quell my nervousness. And boy, the night turned out to be a disaster. My date got bored really fast that he had to pull that emergency call stunt on me. I also hated myself that night for being so stiff and not being capable of expressing myself to just a guy. I realized that between being slightly talkative and being aloof, I would always choose the former.

Yes, there is always that assumption that if you talk too much on a date youll get ditched quickly, but its better being a bit more vocal on your first dates because it sends the signal to youre the person that you are giving it a shot. Showing that you are engaged in the conversation by expressing yourself more gives him or her idea that you are enjoying the date. Moreover, people who are good in expressing themselves are viewed as warm and entertaining by many. Dont you want your date to have that impression of you? This does not mean that you will do all the talking on your first dates. You will also listen to your date, of course, but do your share of talking. Besides, if your date doesnt like the fact that can speak your mind, then that person may not be a catch after all.
