Nascar Tickets - Kyle Busch Sweeps Bristol, Makes History Books

Kyle Busch is one of the most controversial drivers in stock car racing

, but he's also one of the greatest. Busch made history in late August at Bristol Motor Speedway when he became the first driver to win all three NASCAR series races (Trucks, Nationwide and Sprint Cup) in the same weekend since the league expanded NASCAR to three national series in 1995.

Busch swept the trio of races at Bristol in late August, defying a crowd that actually booed him at times in order to make a name for himself in the NASCAR record books. The unprecedented sweep began on Aug. 18 at the Truck Series' O'Reilly 200, when Busch bested Aric Almirola to take first place in the lesser-known NASCAR race. At the Nationwide race two days later, Busch again held down the top spot to speed into Victory Lane in front of the competition, but this time it wasn't smooth sailing for No. 18.

Busch took the win at the Nationwide race at Bristol on Aug. 20, but not before being booed by the crowd at the Bristol Motor Speedway. During the N-wide race, Busch and fellow firecracker Brad Keselowski were racing hard for almost 15 laps when Keselowski made an aggressive move toward Busch. Busch intentionally spun him out in the next lap, causing a chorus of boos to rain down on the track as Busch took the lead from Keselowski. After crossing the finish line, Busch traded in his signature bow to make a mocking imitation of wiping his eyes like a crying baby, further enraging the crowd.

After the race, Busch spoke with CBS Sports about his battle with Keselowski, saying, "I raced him, raced him, raced him, I don't know, 12-15 laps? I thought I had him cleared up the back and I moved up in front of him and instead of him doing an Earnhardt crossover, he decided to just run into the back of me and put me in the fence. That's Brad Keselowski. So I went down into the next corner and I dumped him. He does it to everybody else, why can't I do it to him?" Keselowski, currently on probation for a series of spin-outs he's dealt back and forth with Carl Edwards, couldn't retaliate, and Busch ultimately came away with the Nationwide win that day.

Completing the trifecta at Bristol, Kyle Busch took the most important race of the weekend the following day with the Cup race. Fans with NASCAR tickets saw Busch beat out David Reutimann (No. 2), Jamie McMurray (No. 3), Clint Bowyer (No. 4) and Kasey Kahne (No. 5) to snag the big Cup Series win, hoisting a broom in Victory Lane to signify his momentous sweep at Bristol.

Even with the huge milestone at Bristol, however, Kyle Busch still has some tough competing left to do this season. The Joe Gibbs Racing superstar shot up five places into No. 3 on the driver standings chart in the Sprint Cup Series after Bristol, but he's still in a battle to make the Chase going into the month of September. It's coming down to the wire for the Chase cutoff, and NASCAR fans better believe Kyle Busch will fight to the end to take home his first-ever Sprint Cup Series championship title.
