National Crime Tipster's Police And Sheriff Journal

I had the opportunity to speak with an individual today at an organization by the

name of "National Tipster," a small private organization dedicated to working on a local level with victims of crime, witnesses and the public at large. As stated on their website, "The basic purpose of National Tipster Inc. is to provide a crime reporting mechanism to residents which will not only allow regular citizens to become involved in contributing to their neighboorhood safety, but profit from their participation. National Tipster has been established for citizens, who have information regarding a crime but lack the knowledge of who or where to report what they have seen."

Interestingly, I had always heard or seen of cases where there were rewards being offered, either by law enforcement or by the families of victims for instance, but I found this to be quite intriguing. A critical component within their services involves working in neighborhoods or regions commonly plagued by rampant crime, and likewise, a general acceptance in the belief that no matter what you saw, no matter what you know about the incident...keep your mouth shut! All of a suddent this potentially changes things. Like the old saying goes, "everything's for sale," including one's loyalty to the neighborhood protocols when the prospect of a payday lies just around the corner.

National Tipster is a brand new organization that only began this journey a few months ago, but as I see it, this could be the rise of something big! I personally have no affiliation whatsoever with the company and don't really know much more as far as the direction it intends to travel, but my attention is definitely caught. Their number is (800) 505-0391 and if I remember correctly, I believe they do answer the phones 7 days a week.

I wish them well with this vision and believe it can potentially be a wonderful thing...
