Natural Acai Berry Juices Or Supplements
The acai berry is a relatively new food item to Western culture
. Acai fruit has been used by different cultures in the Amazon as their main food source and the berry can be seen in sweet or savory dishes throughout the Amazon region. Since Western culture had little to no knowledge about acai berries, when they became popular for diet use there were a lot of false claims about what the fruit could actually do. Some companies jumped on the bandwagon and started charging far too much for a bottle of acai juice because it could allegedly reverse diseases and conditions and make pounds of weight fall right off of you. That is a big claim for any product, and while the
acai berry can definitely be a beneficial inclusion into your diet, it is not a miracle berry.
Acai berries and juices that use actual acai berries have antioxidants in them and can help increase your metabolism; but that also depends on the other ingredients in the acai juice or supplement. Acai has been found to have antioxidants, but not as much as red wine or even grape juice, so the nutritional benefits of an acai supplement or juice may only partly be the berry. Many products include other known antioxidants such as green tea extracts.
Many acai juices include other ingredients that assist the acai in increasing antioxidant production and in increasing your metabolism. The
acai berry is no miracle fruit but if you shop smart you can find acai juices and supplements that can help your metabolism and energy levels.
If you are thinking about taking acai supplements specifically for weight loss, you may want to talk to your doctor or nutritionist first to talk about potential benefits and downsides. Come up with a list of
acai berry related supplements or juices that you are interested in trying and ask your doctor what their opinion is on the products. Also, look carefully at the ingredients. For example, some juices will include caffeine as the metabolism boost, which is especially important to know if you generally avoid caffeine or do not want caffeine in your daily supplements. Especially since caffeine is a short term metabolism boost. You could also try purchasing some actual acai berries to include in your diet.
Natural acai juices or supplements with other beneficial ingredients can help the weight loss process, but not all by itself. With a balanced diet, exercise at least three times a week, and whatever supplements are beneficial to you; you should be able to lose weight at a steady and healthy rate.
