Natural Weed Control Methods For Yards And Gardens
Those who are interested in growing a garden or taking better care of their yard are those who are looking into natural weed control methods
. A natural method for controlling weeds would not include man-made fertilizers or harmful chemical mixtures that kill weeds. These chemicals are not good for the environment and have produced untold issues on the land around them. Luckily, weed killing chemicals are not the only choice one has for controlling the weeds in their yard or garden. There are actually several methods for natural weed control that anyone can utilize for a safer and more environmentally friendly solution to weeds.
One such method would be to use vinegar. Vinegar is natural and will therefore not hurt the soil beneath it, nor Mother Earth. The only downfall to this natural weed killing solution is the fact that it also harms grass. This means it is best when applied directly to the weeds and in dirt patches that do not contain grass that could be harmed by the natural vinegar.
Laying a heavy layer of mulch in between plants is another suggest route to use instead of spraying chemical weed killers. Mulch is thick and heavy which means it can suffocate the weeds before they even reach the surface. It's relatively inexpensive and lasts much longer than chemical weed killers. It's also a beautiful addition for any flower patch or garden that will only enhance the looks of it in the long run.
Plastic barrier membranes can be laid on any flower garden or dirt patch that has a potential for growing weeds. Often times these plastic barrier membranes are covered by decorative bark chips or even colored rocks. These have the same effect as the mulch in that they suffocate the weeds before they are able to grow up out of the surface. These often last for years and years and eliminate the need for chemical weed killers to be used directly on plants and soil.
Another highly recommended product would be an all natural, organic soil additive that can help to add to the biomass of plants. These additives are only recommended if they are one hundred percent natural and come from only cellular materials and seed coats. The purpose of these additives is to absorb both toxins and nutrients in order to naturally supplement the soil and protect it from competing weeds. Indeed, there are several methods that can be used for natural weed control. Just be sure to invest in ones that do not involve chemical agents that will hurt Mother Nature.
