. Every five years, the average American moves. People always drive straight into their garages, order lawn service and hung out in their backyards. They need not step out the house and neighbors do not know each other's names.

Good neighbors are something like running water. We do not realize how much we depend on them until we are not together. They let our lives more enjoyable and give us a feeling of who we are, whether as an individual or as a member of the community.

If you want to enhance your relationship with your friends and neighbors, the best way is to respect for their feelings, concern for their property, and help them at any time when they need help. The followings are some ways to nature the relationship between you and neighbors and friends.

1. Strike up a talk on the sidewalk. It is fine to be one to break the ice, even though you have lived next door for years. Most neighbors pretty enjoy a small talk with people on the side of the fence. So next time as you see your neighbor play in their pool, give your smile and say hello to them. Ask whether they are toddlers or in college or whether they need zucchini.

2. You can extend yourself to the new family. Nowadays the Welcome Wagon is out of date. But they will have a lonely feeling, particularly they are far from the home. If you bear fresh-baked brownies for them, they may thank you very much. You can tell where the kids in the neighborhood live if they have children. Tell them the best place to eat and shop. Invite them to over for coffee when they get things well, give them your number when you say bye.

3. Be thoughtful, especially to the elderly neighbors. If you borrow something from a neighbor such as tools, you have to return them as soon as you finished with them. Get anything replaced that belongs to your neighbor which may your pets break or soil. If your neighbor does not buy a garbage can yet, roll them back to his yard. Your considerable and random acts will have your neighbor talking and the conversation will be pretty good.

4. Ask your neighbors to join your next bash. What better way to meet your neighbors than to invite them to an informal barbecue, holiday house? You also may even think of throwing a get-together just for them. Deliver your invitation personally to everyone who lives on your block and have a five-minute talk with before you move to the next house. You will make clear that what your neighbors are like so you can plan for the good music and food.
