Nba Tickets - 2009-10 Player Predictions

Here are some player predictions for the 2009-10 NBA season.

Most Valuable Player - LeBron James, Small Forward, Cleveland Cavaliers: LeBron will probably be the preseason favorite for this award for the next eight to ten years, even if he doesn't win it the year prior. Coming off his first MVP season, LeBron is hungry to win a title and, as crazy as it sounds, could take his game to another level. Let's just say that I wouldn't pass up the chance to get NBA tickets to see him this season.

Rookie of the Year - Blake Griffin, Power Forward, Los Angeles Clippers: I know it's not as fun to pick the number one pick to win this award, but this year there isn't another choice that makes much sense. Griffin was the best player in college basketball and his game translates to the pros well. He's going to get plenty of playing time now that the Clippers traded Zach Randolph and he should produce right from the get go.

Defensive Player of the Year - Dwight Howard, Center, Orlando Magic: Nobody rebounds or block shots like Howard, so it's going to take a serious defensive effort to unseat this reigning award winner. Howard's physical abilities make him a terror around the basket on defense and he's easily the top rebounder in the game on a yearly basis.

Sixth Man of the Year - Manu Ginobili, Shooting Guard, San Antonio Spurs: I'd expect Richard Jefferson to start, so Manu can heal up and still play significant minutes when he's ready. He's not a true sixth man, but he'll probably be eligible for the award, so you have to consider him.

Most improved Player - Kevin Love, Power Forward, Minnesota Timberwolves: Love had a solid rookie season, but I expect him to really step things up this year. He's already one of the best rebounders in the league and consistent minutes should prove that. He's versatile and should show the range on his jump shot this season as well.

Comeback Player - Gilbert Arenas, Point Guard, Washington Wizards: Arenas has reportedly returned to form and is poised for a big season. New Washington head coach Flip Saunders said he plans to use Arenas as the primary playmaker for the team. Arenas will have the ball in his hands all the time and should make plays for himself and others.

Scoring Leader - Kevin Durant, Small Forward, Oklahoma City Thunder: Durant really showed his promise last season. He averaged 25 points per game on 48 percent shooting from the field, 42 from distance and 87 from the free throw line, and all at age 20. He's going to be one of the most prolific scores the game has ever seen and I think it's feasible that he averages more than 30 point per game this season.

Rebounding Leader - Dwight Howard, Center, Orlando Magic: Howard should lead this category on a yearly basis for a long time. Nobody is at his level.

Assists Leader - Chris Paul, Point Guard, New Orleans Hornets: Is there any other choice that one could really make from an unbiased point of view?

Breakout Player - Anthony Randolph, Forward, Golden State Warriors: Randolph is ready to shine and he's good enough that even Don Nelson won't be able to keep him on the bench this season.
