Nba Tickets - Rookie Report

Here is how the top selections in the 2009 NBA Draft

, as well as some later surprises, are faring in the early going of their rookie seasons. (Note: This article was written on Dec. 1, 2009)

Blake Griffin, Forward, Los Angeles Clippers: Griffin has yet to play in a game due to injury. He is set to return in a couple weeks, and fans will surely be clamoring to get NBA tickets to see this talented athlete in action.

Hasheem Thabeet, Center, Memphis Grizzlies: Thabeet has struggled to earn minutes, which is not much of a surprise. He was viewed largely as a project pick and needs to refine his game and learn before logging regular minutes for an NBA team. The marked improvement of starting center Marc Gasol has slowed any rush the Grizzlies may have been in to get Thabeet into the rotation.

James Harden, Shooting Guard, Oklahoma City: Harden has looked solid yet unspectacular thus far. He's come on recently with a string of double-digit scoring performances, but he's also contributing with his rebounding and facilitating, as well. He looks like a good fit on this Thunder team and should be a nice role player for them this season.

Tyreke Evans, Guard, Sacramento Kings: Evans is having a very good rookie season so far. He's too big for most guards to stop from getting into the lane, so he finds himself around the rim a lot. He's averaging 19 points, five rebounds and five assists per game, which are fantastic numbers for anyone, especially a rookie. I'm still not convinced that he's a point guard, but he's definitely better than I expected. I know Brandon Jennings is tearing it up early on, but I think Evans will secure the Rookie of the Year award by season's end.

Ricky Rubio, Point Guard, Minnesota Timberwolves: He never came over from Spain.

Jonny Flynn, Point Guard, Minnesota Timberwolves: Flynn has been pretty good in the early part of his rookie campaign. The Wolves have struggled, but Flynn has been one of the brighter spots. He's not shooting the ball great, but he's facilitating some. Ramon Sessions could challenge him for playing time but Flynn, like the Wolves as a whole, is a work in progress.

Stephen Curry, Guard, Golden State Warriors: Curry struggled a bit early on, but he appears to be more comfortable since the departure of Stephen Jackson and his role seems more defined. He's distributing the ball much better and his shooting numbers seem to be climbing. He looks like he's going to have a good rookie season as expected, despite Don Nelson's penchant for benching rookies.

Jordan Hill, Power Forward, New York Knicks: Hill has not received much playing time thus far.

DeMar DeRozan, Toronto Raptors: DeRozan is a work in progress, but he's receiving pretty consistent minutes. He seems to play smart beyond his years and projects to develop into a nice player.

Brandon Jennings, Point Guard, Milwaukee Bucks: Jennings has been the star of this rookie class so far. He's averaging more than 20 points per game, while chipping in assists, rebounds and steals, as well. He's already got a 55-point game and he could be a star in the making.

Ty Lawson, Point Guard, Denver Nuggets: I don't know why so many teams doubted him. Though a bit undersized, Lawson has always been a good shooter, lightning quick and has been able to produce a good assist to turnover ratio. He's doing all of those things in Denver.

Darren Collison, Point Guard, New Orleans Hornets: Collison has been good in place of the injured Chris Paul. He'll be relegated to a backup again when Paul returns, but it's nice to see a four-year college player having success in the league.

Marcus Thornton, Shooting Guard, New Orleans Hornets: Thornton is proving to be a capable scorer on the NBA level.
