Need To Buy Computers? Here's What To Look For

Computer shopping can be tiresome and confusing to most people

. When it comes time to buy computers, especially desk top computers, here are some basics that should make the experience less painful.

The most important part of the computer is the processor. This is the brain of the computer and makes the computer work. That should always be the first consideration. The most popular processors are Intel and AMD. Of the two, Intel is the better processor and is found in more desktops than the AMD processor.

Next, choose the amount of memory that the computer needs to have. Memory is often referred to as RAM and most desktop computers use DDR3 memory. A good desktop computer will have at least 4GB (gigabytes) of memory. Anything less than four and the system will not operate as smoothly as expected.

The size of the hard drive is really important too. The size of the hard drive allows the computer to perform quickly. It is recommended to purchase a computer with at least 500MB (megabytes) of storage space on the hard drive. Currently, the best hard drive on the market is found in the Dell desktop computers. Plus these computers feature Serial ATA interface which allows for easy installation.

After the processor, memory, and hard drive requirements are worked out, choose from a host of optional features. These options include DVD/CD burners to Blu-ray players. Depending on what the computer is being used for, it might be a good idea to look at video cards and external connectors.

The last thing that must be considered is the computer monitor. All desk top computers come with a monitor. The key is figuring out the best size. Most of the monitors sold today are flat screen monitors that range between fifteen to thirty inches.

Once the decision has been made to buy computers, it does not have to be a long frustrating process. The key is to use the advice given to make computer shopping fun and interesting.
