Nehemiah 8:10: "Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."

Nehemiah 8:10: "Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."

Recently I have been listening to sermons on reprioritising, realigning ourselves with God, and our joy in the Lord needs to be full and not half empty.

Now if the same message is spoken more than once by different people then God is telling us something. Is it that we Christians are getting stuck in the same rut as society and as the economy worsen our attentions have turned elsewhere?

Come on let's face it we all want a better quality of life we don't want to be working just to live, paying bills and not getting nothing in return. If were really honest the only way we can get better quality of life naturally is through financial freedom.

Now because we want this better quality of life our attention will focus more on how to make more money, focus on things rather than God, also unpleasant circumstances could arise in our lives to make us lose even more concentration on him. You then end up getting more stressed than you were before it's like a never ending cycle, believe me I've been here recently I know.

We have to come to the conclusion that it's only God we can depend on. After hearing these messages I have had to realign myself spiritually reprioritise my life and concentrate more on Godly issues. Once I done that the stress I was feeling just lifted I felt so much more joy peace and happiness.

I came to the conclusion I cannot do it all by myself I need him and why worry about the things I cannot change. He has never left me or forsake me I have never been left without food or water so why should I start worrying now.

Yes I want the finer things in life I'm not going to pretend I don't but it's not worth forsaking God for as he is the only one that can give us true happiness. The joy of the Lord is truly our strength.
