There is no daily commute. There are no bosses to answer to. You can spend more time with your family or focusing on the things you like to do. The hours are flexible. You are less likely to get sick. Your expenses are tax deductable.

The benefits to operating a home business are endless, and with MLM, the opportunities for increasing your income are virtually limitless. The more you work, the more money you make.

A home business seems like a dream come true. Many people dream of working in their underwear. But operating a network marketing home business can also have its pitfalls. It takes discipline to work from home. A pile of dirty laundry may be calling your name from the hamper, children may be literally calling your name, friends may want to stop by and hang out, or you could get sucked in to an all-day television marathon. You need to set aside space and time to focus on building your business, or working from home will simply become being at home.

So what are some things you can do to stay focused on growing your network marketing business from home?

1. Designate office space for yourself. Don't set up shop in the kitchen. Have an office with a desk, a computer, and a door that closes. When it's time for you to be working, close the door and don't let anyone bother you.

2. Set office hours. Just as you'd have to report to an office every day at 8:00 am, set a start time for your home office. Maybe you work best from 10 - 7. Maybe you are an early bird. Set a schedule that works for you and stick to it each and every workday.

3. Take a shower and get dressed. Don't put this off until lunchtime. Some MLM work at home gurus say you should always wear shoes when working from home, as well. Don't wear slippers. When you are in your down-time clothes your brain can have a hard time motivating itself to get into work mode.

4. Make a top six list. These six items are the things that must get done today. Don't stop your day until they are completed. If you finish before the day is done, keep working. But this top six list can set a guide for your day and help you stay on track.

5. Designate certain days for certain work. Perhaps Monday is training day. Tuesday might be spent recruiting. Wednesday might be your day to catch up on paperwork. Find a schedule that fits for your network marketing home business and your work style and stick to it religiously.

6. Be grateful. Always take time to realize how lucky you are to own your own network marketing business from the convenience of your own home.

Whatever way you see your life taking shape, the reality is that network marketing offers you the key to unlock any door.
