Let's face it--a great number of people you prospects will not turn out to be your member.
Customer only
They will just be a customer and probably are only interested in your products and services. They could have been referred to you from their friends and they have consumed some of the products before or they could have drawn in by the brand names of the consumable products and have been using the products already for some time in their daily life. Maybe your products are already a well-known brand in the networking marketplace and it need no introduction and that makes buying or becoming your customers so easy. These people would have been buying it from their friends who are also members of your networking company. Whether or not they are members it did not bother them.
Customer's repeated orders
Be persistent and patience in your prospecting. While they are pondering over whether to join or not you can keep them as your customer. Treat them well like you would treat any other customers because they buy from you. They provide you with recurring sales and remember in network marketing repeated orders means a continuous stream of income for you for the rest of your life.
Still considering
These customers that you had recruited are not rejecting you outright, but indirectly they are telling you that they are still considering the options availableto continue as a customer or join you to be a business builder themselves.
Follow-up with your customers
Eventually, after sometime when they feel that they are losing out in the long run for not earning anything by patronizing you, they are compelled to do something about it. You would have been following up on them regularly to tell them about your business opportunity and have bought them to seminars and weekend talks and gatherings, and eventually you would have gained their trusts. In the seminars and talks they would have seen with their own eyes members who have been successful in the business and it is for real.
Member gains
They would have knows that if they are members they would have bought the same products at a discounted price and save a lots of money. They can still enjoy the product if they become members and can earn some money at the same time.
"Show me the money"
So you see, in network marketing, you need persistency and lots of patience in prospecting for new members. You want to choose the best to be your business builders, those who are genuinely interested in the business. Hard sell and cold calling is a completely waste of time, and you cannot force a person to be interested in your business if they are not motivated.
As seen on the example above, after a person has used the company's products, he will experienced firsthand about the benefits of consuming them. You will not sell it to your friend if you yourself do not like it, would you? Soon with much help from you as the leader, they will begin to see that they can save money while enjoying the product. Eventually they will ask you to show them how your marketing plan works.
Ice-breaker
Introducing a product to your prospect first is a good ice-breaker. People are not so defensive and they would think that they are not forced into any business and they have to pay an initial large sum of money. They will be thinking they will lose their money if later they are unable to continue with the business. Promoting a product is not difficult, either they buy it or they don't. If they buy, give them some reading materials, DVDs or CDs and say it is free and with no obligation.
