Never Miss Another Call! Route Inbound NGN Calls To Your Mobile When You're Away From The Office

In all probability, you would have heard of NGN numbers or non-geographical numbers - they just mean that the phone instrument attached to it doesn't relate to a fixed geographical location like your normal cell phone or landline numbers. In essence, they are freephone numbers. Typically, an NGN number does not replace a telephone system but in turn houses the system that companies use to communicate with its clients and is built on a telephone network. It is essentially the number that the clients know that your company has.

The definition of corporation no longer means people sitting together in cubicles and working on computers, typing away chunks of data. With the advent of the latest gadgets, the mobility of people has improved and most employees have to be on the go for most of the day - this results in a fix, for you can't afford to miss your client calls. Nor can you ask the customers to try a few numbers before they're able to reach you. Customers these days ask for a specific NGN number that they can call you on and you'll have to be there for them.

The issue seems to be complicated but PBX systems offer a simple solution for it - direct your phone calls anywhere you want - your home, your office number, your cell phone number. Moreover, you can inform the phone operator to route your calls moments before you actually need it changed - such is the flexibility of the system. It follows that the customer you're talking to wouldn't know the difference between the office phone and your cell phone. Even if you're working from home, you don't have to worry about missing calls. This also enables number retention if you're shifting your office premises. Further, it allows different people to have an actual business even without an office building.

So, the next time you call 0800 numbers or 0845 numbers or 0844 numbers, you will realise that the person you're talking to may not be in the office.

This technology is called Number Porting - it technically means that a call transfer request can be issued to the system, asking that your calls be transferred to a different number from a different carrier. This also ensures inter-operability of calls from different carriers - for instance, 0300 numbers to 0330 numbers.
