New Brunswick Hotels and Motels-Hopewell Rocks

New Brunswick hotels and motels are numerous in and around the Hopewell Rocks. Located in the Bay of Fundy, the Hopewell Rocks are only accessible at low tide. They are oft times called the Flowerpot Rocks and are surrounded by red sandstone pillars.

The Rocks and pillars were formed by hundreds of years of tides, wind and rain wearing down and shaping the red stone cliffs into the wondrous formations. These rock formations are a very easy 40km commute from Moncton, New Brunswick. The Flowerpot Rocks area is open from the middle of May to the middle of October. There are very large parking lots to accommodate visitors, a brand new visitors center, gift shop and restaurant to round out an exciting day trip. The Rocks are just a short walk along a forest trail. There is a shuttle bus for those who don't want or can't hike to the beach.

If the tide is out, then there is a metal staircase down to the ocean floor. The most spectacular of the pillars are named, such as the Castle Cove and Big Cove, which are located west of the stairway. It goes without saying that comfortable shoes are a must if you want to explore.

Pay very close attention to the posted visiting hours, because you don't want to be caught exploring the rocks as the tide is coming in. All New Brunswick hotels and motels in the area are able to provide up to the minute details of the always-changing schedule of the Flowerpot Rocks. So ask at the front desk before you venture out.
