New Contest Win A Week In Venice Studying Italian

The Venice Italian School organises the second edition of the competition "Win a week in Venice studying Italian".

The competition is open to everyone and offers to a lucky winner the opportunity to win a fantastic week of learning-holiday, where studying and practising your Italian will be embedded in the discovery of fascinating myths and legends about Venice, its art, history and traditions.

In fact, the Venice Italian School is proud to offer this week as an example of its own structure, teaching methodology and cultural activities. The school is run by brother and sister Diego and Lucia Cattaneo who -together with their tight group of highly qualified and experienced Italian teachers- will give you a learning experience like no other.

As different from the vast majority of language schools, we specialise in "personalised teaching": we believe that students should be placed in the best possible environment to learn and to practice the language. So, forget about classes of 15 to 20 people, with different levels of Italian within the same group, teacher-centred, where it is virtually impossible to say a word.

We work with groups of max 6 people of the same level; and we centre our lessons on our students. We encourage them to talk and to put immediately into practice what we cover in class; not being afraid to make mistakes but actually learning from them. We lead our students to be the real protagonist of our lessons.

Our range of interactive activities includes specifically designed exercises and games, videos and listenings for different levels of learners, role-plays and "active" movie watching, to encourage students to speak with both to each other and with us as much as possible.

In the afternoon, we are proud to offer our students a good range of "cultural" and "special" classes including: Art of Venice, History of Venice, Italian Politics and Current Affairs, Italian Opera (Cultural classes); Cooking Lesson, Wine Tasting and -our favourite- Gondola Lesson (Special classes). All these lessons are specifically designed to give students a chance to improve their Italian in the fields they like the most, while discovering more about Venice and Italy.
