New Facebook group aiming to sign up every Facebook member in the world to force environmental change around the world

One planet, one future, one choice - Go Green NOW!

Go Green Environmental Services has taken the decision to launch a revolutionary concept through the social networking site Facebook. We are going to attempt to enlist every member of Facebook across the planet, approximately 500 million people, to the cause.

The group was established after the birth of Go Green Environmental Services owner's first baby. His sons arrival brought to the fore responsibilities and implications that could not be ignored. What sort of a future were we building for the little chap? Would our actions mean that our children and their children would even have a planet worth inheriting from us? This led to him reflect on the power of social networking sites. The current unrest in the Middle East has been organised and orchestrated using such sites as Facebook. That power could be harnessed for environmental change as well as political and social change.

The aim of the group is to build up support for causes that it's members highlight to it. Any member can bring a cause to the attention of the group. The only condition is that the cause must be of an environmental nature. It must involve a tangible problem or decision that can be demonstrated to be harmful to the environment. Once a cause has been identified the lobbying power of the group will be brought to force.

Whether it's the building of yet another hypermarket or housing estate on green belt or licences to bury toxic waste or plans for a new airport get the support of the group to ensure that the environment is taken into account. But that is not all. If you find a product that claims to be 'environmentally friendly' but clearly isn't, get in touch. If you find a product that is revolutionary in it's environmental design then tell the group. The power of the masses can force the adoption of policies, products and systems to be adopted.
