. It has currently sold 82 million units worldwide and is one of Apples best handheld devices. The new iPod touch was launched in October 2012 at Apples Press Conference in California. There were a lot of speculations regarding its launch, but most of the speculations turned out to be true. One of the most anticipated features of the new iPod touch was the 4-inch screen and the unibody. The body of the new iPod touch was made of glass and aluminum mostly. The screen was increased only length wise but not breadthwise. The officials at Apple said that they wanted users to have a great experience using the devices interface while being able to hold it comfortably in the hand. The screen has an amazing resolution of 1136x640 pixels with a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch. The front side of the device has fingerprint resistant oleophobic coating. Coming to the hardware of the device, it is powered by a 1 GHz dual core ARM Cortex-A9 Apple A5 processor along with 512 MB of RAM. The new Apple A5 processor is said to be 2 times faster in processing and rendering compared to the previous processor.

One of the main improvements in the new iPod touch is its camera. The device has a 5 megapixel rear camera that is capable of recording full HD 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. It also has an LED flash which will let the users take photos in low light. There is also a FaceTime HD camera with 1.2 megapixels which is capable of recording HD 720p videos at 30 frames per second.

There are a few other features that have been incorporated into the new iPod touch. One of the most innovative features was their lightning dock connector. This lets the users to connect the connector to the iPod touch in any way they want, either upward or downward. One more thing that they included in their new iPod touch is their new ear buds. The revolutionary shape of the ear buds will fit into almost any ear properly letting the users listen to music and enjoy it without any hassle. The new iPod touch also features a 3.7 V rechargeable lithium-ion battery of 1030 mAh. Upon full charge the device boasts 40 hours of audio and 8 hours of video. This new device is surely going to be a hit in the market if it delivers what it offers.
