New Portal Launches To List Rental Homes For Benefit Tenants

A new property web portal will connect agents and landlords with people claiming

housing benefit and who are looking for private rental accommodation.

Dssmove is a free UK-wide online service where DSS tenants can search, review and apply for a new home.

Currently, the new site offers only very limited listings none, for example, in London or Reading but the aim is a nationwide site where every letting agent and agent listed is happy to deal with anyone claiming housing benefit.

The portal claims to be the first of its kind and has been founded by Aki Ellahi, a private landlord who also owns Wolverhampton-based letting agency Rent Me Now.

He said: No other property site offers what we do.

We recognised the many difficulties faced by people on housing benefit when it came to finding a new home, with many private landlords just saying no to DSS.

But through Dssmove, there is now an extensive network of landlords that are most certainly saying yes, and its an easy way for tenants to get in touch and find a suitable property.

Dssmove offers detailed property listings across the country from one-bed flats to four-bed family homes.

The new portal is aimed at helping the rental process for tenants, landlords and letting agents alike.

Ellahi said: We can give tenants peace of mind and choice when it comes to searching for their new home. Our listed letting agents are checked by the Dssmove team and adhere strictly to our selection criteria. And that means peace of mind for landlords looking to rent out their properties.

The service provided to letting agents to list their property on Dssmove is free during the initial launch phase. As Dssmove grows, nominal charges will apply after a point in time as yet undecided. There will be no tie-in through a lengthy contract, so letting agents and landlords can walk away at any time.
