New relationships are exciting and a new partner can be great in bed. But why not wait a while before you move in together?
You can still have great sex and a lot of fun while living separately. It takes time to really get to know a new partner and find out what they're like tired, grumpy, under stress or if they've had too much to drink. It is a very good idea to have a Plan B while a relationship is new and Plan B can be your own space, somewhere to go if the going ever gets tough.
Do You Really Know What You're Getting Into?
Don't get pressured into having a live in relationship until you are totally confident about your choice of partner. You need to know what you are in for. Do they spend money like there's no tomorrow? Do they gamble? Is there an anger problem lurking under the surface?Do they try and control everything you do? Maybe they are serial flirters likely to be doing a bit of straying when you are not looking?
Living Together Is A commitment
Moving in signals a commitment. It might be an informal commitment but it's still a commitment. Moving out can mean a lot of stress and unpleasantness and you don't want to be moving house too many times before you find a good match.
If a new partner doesn't quite measure up, and you still like them, then you can say, "Sorry, I don't think a permanent relationship is right for me but I'd like to stay friends". Often, if you get on well, there can be an almost seamless transition from lover to friend with no hard feelings or anger. It is all just that much more difficult if you are in a live in relationship.
Once you and your new lover have both passed the pre- livein relationship trial then you can feel confident about moving in. Obviously there will have been discussion about where you both want to go in life so make sure you stake your ground out.
Romance Never Ends
Once you are live in lovers the romance shouldn't suddenly stop even when it seems difficult to keep the fires of romance blazing when you are both working long hours and tired. Spare time together can be scarce and there are lots of stressful times in most relationships. Being supportive of each other with kindness and understanding when things are going wrong can go a long way to keeping a partner happy.
Not everything that goes wrong is anything to do with your relationship. There can be work problems, family problems, illness and accidents. What ever the problem you have to be there for your partner, even if you feel they're in the wrong. You need to be able to talk about any problems and try and come up with solutions that save face and have an outcome that is best for you both.
A Good Relationship Takes Effort
Both parties in a relationship need make a constant effort to keep it thriving. Your partnership must be the foundation of an interesting and lively life - for both of you.
That's what it a relationship is your life. If you want a good life then you have to give it your best shot.
You cannot expect to just take someone for granted because they're always around. Your partner is not a prize you won in a raffle. You can't put a relationship on the sideboard and forget about it because eventually it just won't be there anymore.
Common Problems
There are some common problems that feature when relationships start to fray a little around he edges. When I meet people in the course of a business or social situations, I often see personal interactions that make me cringe.
Please don't get into the habit of criticizing your partner in front of other people, don't make sarcastic comments about them or there activities, don't be bossy you are not the boss remember they're your partner not your servant. And above all, don't squabble in public. Nobody wants to be embarrassed or feel humiliated by the love of their life.
