New Scuba Diving Brochure Launched By Ibiza Tourist Board

Ibizas tourist board has just launched a new brochure exclusively dedicated to scuba

diving and highlighting 20 of the islands best scuba diving locations.

Diving enthusiasts can use the brochure to plan their scuba diving holidays in Ibiza and find out detailed information about the islands marine environment.

The brochure is 100 per cent waterproof and tear-resistant and made out of rock paper which makes it ideal for scuba divers, snorkellers and other water sport enthusiasts.

Divers can learn about the nest scuba diving spots in Ibiza and there is wealth of information provided including difficulty levels, maximum and minimum depths, location of caves and wrecks, and ease of access.

Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) recently named Ibiza as one of the top summer scuba diving destinations in Europe and the association is linked with 12 centres on the island that offer scuba diving courses and certification.

Situated in the Mediterranean Sea, the Balearics island is a popular location for scuba diving holidays due to its warm waters and beautiful underwater environment.

During scuba diving excursions, divers can explore the wreck of the Don Pedro, a 140m-long merchant ship that sunk to the bottom of the ocean in 2007, and visit the meadows of Neptune grass that were added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1999.

The temperature of the waters surrounding Ibiza varies from 28 degrees in the summer to 14 degrees in the winter and visibility ranges from 20 to 40 metres depending on the current.

While scuba diving in the Mediterranean Sea, divers can catch sightings of an array of spectacular creatures including bottlenose dolphins, loggerhead turtles, grouper, barracuda, scorpion fish, morays, octopus, damselfish, wrasse, squirrelfish, swordfish, moray eels and many more.

Popular diving sites in Ibiza include Punta Gronch, Tagomago Anclas, Tagomago Las Rocas, Cala Mastella, Tagomago, Faro, Cueva Cala Llonga (The Cathedral), Llado Norte, La Platforma (Fish Factory), Es Figueral and the Cala d'Hort Marine Nature Reserve located off the south west coast of the island.

Ibiza is a great destination for UK divers and can be easily reached in a two-hour flight. The island boasts over 200 miles of coastline and crystal clear waters that are teaming with beautiful sea creatures.
