There has recently been talk of high speed trains to be implemented by 2015 that will make the commute between cities like London and Birmingham much quicker for travellers, and save on the congestion of people living in urban areas.

Some of the rail systems harshest critics are saying that the train line would be purely cosmetic and is unnecessary, and money should be spent in other areas like fixing the alarming amount of potholes that we are seeing across our road system.

The campaign for better transport feel that if the government are to implement these changes then they have to be presented as a wider picture with other transport alternatives being considered.

It has also been noted that the country has to be far more resilient to snow, otherwise a high speed train will have the same problems as the trains in the UK have been having over the last few years. The train is also designed to be far more resilient to other weather conditions, so should save the company financial impact in the bad weather, and also the inconvenience of not being able to get anywhere.
