Antennas have vanished and the designs are sleeker and good-looking mobiles with better keypads for easier texting are in the market. Today, mobile phone industry shows a drastic jump that has landed up with smart phones, QWERTY keypads or and touch screen handsets. Today's trend is either QWERTY or touch screen, and while most of the touch screen phones are priced high, we have many QWERTY Phones to pick from and many of them won't make holes in your pocket too!

QWERTY keyboard was invented in 1870 and since then the pattern has seen many implementations. These days QWERTY keypad mobile phones are used widely in business communications, internet surfing and browsing, messaging and made life easier especially for those who need to check emails. QWERTY handsets are an essential need of the people in business, irrespective of the business type. QWERTY keypad mobile phone brings in a lot of convenience and enables users to type quickly the words on mobile keypad by using both thumbs at the time of writing email or any document.

Qwerty keyboard aims at increasing the speed of typing on the premise of not jammed, that is to say we can typing messages with qwerty keyboard at high speed but don't need to worry jamming. There is a strong debate on whether it is easy to use the QWERTY keyboard or touch screen, but the answer varies from person to person. It also depends upon the need, for example, if the person is using the mobile phone for business needs then he/she needs a QWERTY keyboard as they regularly need to type messages, sent emails and do other business related works.

Most high end smart phones have sliding full QWERTY keyboard in them. It will be concealed and they look like an ordinary mobile phone. Touch screen phones usually do not have any manual button rather every function has to be done using its touch facility. Apple iPhone is a popular touch screen mobile and Blackberry is the best example for QWERTY mobile phone. Few touch screen mobile phones have track pad and few optional buttons which can be used instead of touch screen if you need to use it. There are few Blackberry mobile phones which come with a combination of both touch screen and QWERTY keyboard. A perfect example for combination of QWERTY and touch keyboard is Blackberry Torch II.
