These have proved to be very successful in getting rid of dirt, toxins, and all sorts of filth from carpets. They are also known to be less harmful than most of the stronger chemicals used for cleaning carpets. Another plus is that most of these green and natural agents are homemade, which makes it more cost effective for carpet cleaning. There are also commercially made gentle cleaners that are affordable. Even using these cleaners without a professional machine is quite simple. Most of them require that you spray it on the carpet and allow it to sit for a few minutes, after which you extract it thoroughly, such as with a wet-vac. Immediately after that, you can use plain water to rinse and extract some more.

Bonnet cleaning is also another method of cleaning. In this case, the bonnet is placed at the base of a rotating buffer. Spray the carpet with a shampoo cleaning solution and then place the bonnet machine on the carpet, as if you are to buff a floor. Gradually, the bonnet or cotton pad starts to show signs of dirt meaning that it is actually removing dirt from the carpet. Rinse the bonnet and continue the process until you have covered the entire carpeted area. Then vacuum the carpet as soon as it dries. It usually takes less than an hour before it dries.

In conclusion, new ways of cleaning carpet are being improved upon daily. The one you choose to use depends on the nature of your carpet cleaning needs, which in most cases will be steam cleaning. However, all methods are best performed by professional carpet cleaning services.
