The New York Rangers is a member of the Original Six in the National Hockey League (NHL). They joined the league in 1962. Since they first started, the team was evidently a team to watch. They won the American Division title on their very first year playing. With a great performance in their games, the team gained a huge fan base. In 1929, the team was the first team to travel by plane when they fought against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Those holding a Rangers ticket have always been in constant anticipation to watch their favorite team play.
The Rangers was the first American team to have won a Stanley Cup. The sale of the Rangers ticket was cutthroat when the Rangers won their first Stanley Cup in 1927-1928 season. The team defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs for their second Stanley Cup in 1932-1933. The third Stanley Cup for the Rangers in season 1939-1940 was not as easily achieved as before. The games were split into two were the first half was played in Madison Square Garden while the rest of the games was played in Toronto. The Rangers played against the Leafs and managed to win by overtime.
After the third Stanley Cup win of the Rangers, they stumbled into a losing streak. hey missed the playoffs in 12 of the 16 years. It was dubbed as the Curse of the 1940. The fourth Stanley Cup for the Team was won in 1993-1994 season when Keenan led the team to win the Cup. The excitement of the Rangers fans who were hoping for a comeback from the American team rejuvenated the Rangers tickets sale as well.
Fans were elated to see their favorite team break the curse that was looming on the team.
The fans were more encouraged to watch the team play. Especially when the Rangers acquired some of the more known players in the team. Wayne Gretzky, Theoren Fleury, Eric Lindros and Dan Blackburn to name a few.
The team has been exemplary with their games. Fans and hockey enthusiasts watch every Ranger games. They are hoping to witness another Cup for the Rangers.
