Last year we witnessed an explosion of young golf talent on the world stage, Rory McIlroy, Ryo Ishikawa, Danny Lee etc for exaple. But who will be the new names for 2010? We've looked across the world's main tours and come up with six names to ponder - and a few ways you can cash in on their potential road to glory. RICKIE FOWLER, USA, 21
The look: Shaggy-haired snowboard dude.
The story so far: A short but supremely talented youngster, Fowler is America's "next big thing" and seems destined to compete with Rory McIlroy on the golf course and in the barber's shop for years to come.
Achievements: Won all four of his matches in the 2009 Walker Cup then finished seventh on his PGA Tour debut as a pro.
Best main tour finish: He lost a play-off to Troy Matteson in the Frys.com Open last autumn.
What he says: "The expectations bring some extra pressure but that's the way I want it."
Did you know? Rickie is a quarter Japanese and his middle name is Yutaka. It was Rickie's Japanese grandfather who got him into golf.
Where he could shine in 2010: Californian golfers love the West Coast Swing so if the Murrieta-native follows suit he might enjoy a good start to the year.
Strengths: He's small but he is also a seriously big hitter (he would have ranked tenth last year on tour) and he also has a sure touch with the flat-stick (he would have ranked seventh for Putting Average).
Main aim in 2010: Firstly, a debut win. Secondly, to transfer that strong team record from the Walker Cup to the Ryder Cup.
How to make money on him in 2010: He is 2/1 to win an event in 2010 and 9/2 to make the US Ryder Cup team (Sky Bet). RHYS DAVIES, Wales, 24
The look: Pretty boy of the Welsh back line (square jaw, blue eyes, narrow waist).
The story so far: Walker Cup team-mate of Rory McIlroy who has finally made the top level via two seasons on the Asian Tour and one summer on the Challenge Tour.
Achievements: Two-time winner in the 2009 Challenge Tour season.
Best main tour finish: Sixth at the 2009 Open de Andalucia.
What they say: "He reminds me of Martin Kaymer. It's the way he never seems to change his attitude and is always so well-prepared." - Challenge Tour insider.
Did you know? Davies was a fine fast bowler who played youth level cricket alongside England Test stars Jimmy Anderson and Alastair Cook.
Where he could shine in 2010: He thrived when playing in front of family and friends at the Wales Challenge so will want to complete the double in the Wales Open. Also has more experience of the far-east than most after two years on the Asian Tour.
Strengths: His composure - he's got a smart brain and doesn't panic. He's also formed a strong partnership with his American caddie Mark Maso.
Main aim in 2010: He'll be pleased to make the Race to Dubai but he'll be secretly dreaming of making Wales very proud and earning a spot in the Ryder Cup team.
How to make money on him in 2010: He is 66/1 to qualify for the Ryder Cup team and evens to qualify for the Race to Dubai (Sky Bet). MICHAEL SIM, Australia, 25
The look: Good-looking but slightly square one in a US teen drama.
The story so far: Scottish-born, Western Australian-bred, Sim had his first crack at the PGA Tour ruined by injury in 2007 and 2008 but bounced back to earn Battlefield Promotion (after winning three times) from the Nationwide Tour in 2009.
Achievements so far: A total of four wins on the Nationwide Tour.
Best main tour finish: Seventh at the 2008 Frys.com Open and also the 2009 Johnnie Walker Classic.
What they say: "He's a pretty driven bloke with a lot of talent. That's a pretty good combination. He's a pretty wise golfer at 25." - Geoff Ogilvy.
Did you know? Sim won the Nationwide Tour's Christmas in October Classic (which took place in August).
Where he could shine in 2010: Sim seems to enjoy South Carolina. He has two wins there and also finished second in the state at the 2009 Tour Championship so bear him in mind for the Verizon Heritage, the week after the US Masters.
Strength: Putting. If he gets his eye in on the greens, watch him closely. His stunning 2009 was built on a silky touch with the flat-stick.
Main aim in 2010: To become a winner on the main stage.
How to make money on him in 2010: He is 7/4 to win on the PGA Tour and 12/1 to win more than once (Sky Bet).
